What does our Somm say?
‘Grisela’ Soave D.O.C. is an ‘every meal’ white wine. It works beautifully with light appetizers (olives, breads, sardines, cheeses, chips etc.), yet also pairs well with a delicate vegetable or cheese risottos, fish, pasta with seafood or using cheese or cream based white sauce.
But hey, even in winter, this white wine is versatile. You can try it with vegetable soups, legumes, or herb crusted fish.
If you want to re-create a truly ‘authentic’ experience, try your hand at some Veneto dishes such as Red Radicchio and pork sausage risotto, ‘Sarde in Saor’, Primavera pasta or Bigoli pasta with duck ragu. Then you’ll really enjoy it with a meal.
The volcanic soils of the hillside are rich with basaltic rocks and clays, which guarantees the health of the plant and the promotion of minerality and floral aroma that is characteristic of the Garganega grape. Artisanal wine making at its best, the straw-gold ‘Grisela’ is the backbone of the Tessari vineyard; a delicious entry level wine with elegant fragrances, citrus fruits and a good mineral notes that I would expect from the terroir.

The Winery
Tessari winery was founded in 1933 by Antonio Tessari. Now run by his grandchildren who all hold the Tessari name, this winery has attracted attention at the major wine shows such as Vinitaly, for their high quality wines, beautiful estate and dedicated care to their craft.
The winery is found in Monteforte d’Alpone, in volcanic and clayish angled hills and mountains of the Northern Italian region of Veneto.
In terms of winemaking, it’s the high quality care and attention to their plants and production that set the Tessari apart in their region.
The family carefully select the grapes, to ferment in absolute absence of sulphites, protecting grapes from oxidation using natural tannins not interfering with the grape characteristics: healthy grapes and high cleanliness prevent bacteria proliferation in the first phases of wine making. The long stay on lees and the batonnage facilitates the extraction of the glutathione, one of the strongest antioxidants found in nature.
They are therefore able to obtain a richer, longer and more harmonious wine, with a good balance between aromas and taste, a wine that preserve the typicalness of their hills of Monteforte, respecting the natural expression of Soave Classico D.O.C.

What does Soave Classico ‘D.O.C.’ means?
This refers to the Italian acronym ‘Denominazione di Origine Controllata’ (or ‘Controlled designation of origin’). For Soave Classico to carry the ‘D.O.C.’ on the label, it must be produced within the dedicated Soave region and have a minimum 70% amount of Garganega grape used to produce the wine. Strict harvesting caps (yield quantity), minimum alcohol content, and other regulations must also be adhered to, in order to label your wine a Soave D.O.C
